People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. At Gatwick Aviation Museum there are plenty of opportunities to achieve both.
The Gatwick Aviation Museum isn't just Museum, we are a Charity that funds and supports others within our community. We work with several aviation industry leaders and hand-in-hand with many schools, colleges, universities and youth associations, to provide young people, with hands-on practical experience and theoretical learning tools and guidance that will support future careers within the industry.
The Gatwick Aviation Museum runs many aviation related projects and have many roles, including aircraft restoration, exhibit curation, educational workshops, front of house, shop sales, events, tours and ever expanding site development plans, all of which is only possible through receiving on-going support from our Volunteers. Without this vital support, our important charity work would not be possible.
We have several key volunteer roles within the organisation, that ensures the smooth running and success of the museum and charity. However there are many volunteers who dedicate hours of their time, to support us.
Without the hard work and dedication of our Volunteers, much of our amazing work could not be achieved. We are family here and are united in providing our visitors with the best museum experience possible.
There is no need to wait until you are 18 years old to volunteer, Gatwick Aviation Museum specialises in offering safe volunteer opportunities for teens and students. Volunteering can provide young people self-worth and builds confidence to take on new opportunities. It equally benefits us an organisation, bringing a valuable awareness of the challenges of being a young person today. It also provides an opportunity for our youth volunteers to inspire and grow into the future workforce, as we work to support those with their ambitions to enter the world of aviation.
We often recruit for specific volunteer and paid roles here at Gatwick Aviation Museum.
But, the opportunities don't end here - there are many general support roles, that we recruit for regularly including front of house, shop sales and event support.
